WHY CHOOSE 3LAYER?
Solid wood is a hygroscopic material. The widths and thicknesses differ with changes in humidity. The aim of 3Layer is to obtain dimensional stability.
For Peace of Mind:
3 layers of equal thickness (3 x 7mm) laid at 90° to each other
3 dry and stabilised layers
Perfect bonding (without the possibility on one layer sliding on another)
21mm (3 x 7mm)
21mm (3 x 7mm)
Industrial (+ 50m2) manufactured to clients’ dimensions
The wood is perfectly matched for colour and structure.
The inner hardwood core has no debt for 5cm around its periphery.
On flat pallets (face side uppermost)
Packed under-shrink wrapped plastic film
Precautions: Storage & Use
With the problem of dimensional stability solved, all the remains is the problem of flatness.
Resisting the effect of variation in humidity
The 3Layer panel is very stable dimensionally but can become curved if there are variations in humidity from one edge to the other.
Precautions in use:
Always store flat with no air between panels and if the panel has not been varnished, cover with a sheet of plywood or plastic to protect it from the surrounding air.
Do not open in a warm workshop a pallet that has travelled for several day in cold air (condensation problems will occur).
The ideal conditions for the ambient air in the workshop: 20•C and 50% relative humidity.
Work in a symmetrical manner
Avoid causing deformation through mechanical stresses
Example: in order to make a panel bend, sand 2mm from one side and 0.5mm on the other.
Solution: Always work on the panel in a symmetric way
Varnish or oil | Humidity | Sanding
